Here’s what’s up!
It’s a big day for local events today! 🎄
Start your Saturday with a free community breakfast at St. George’s in Clayton, 2786 Tatlock Road, from 9 to 11 a.m. Everyone’s welcome — donations are appreciated but not expected.
Then check out one of several holiday fairs happening across the region — the Smiths Falls Civitan Craft & Bake Sale runs from 9 to 2 at 12468 Highway 15, and the MERA Christmas Fair takes place from 9 to 3 at the MERA Schoolhouse in McDonald’s Corners.
You can also shop the Snowflake Bazaar at St. James Anglican Church in Carleton Place from 11 to 2, or head to Lombardy Fairgrounds for Cordy’s Elf Magical Christmas Market, open 9 to 3.
In Almonte, the Turtle Painting Workshop is on at J.B. Arts, 64 Mill Street — no experience needed, and proceeds support local conservation!
And tonight, celebrate Canadian rock classics with The Hip Experience, a tribute to The Tragically Hip, live at Smiths Falls Community Theatre, from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $35 online.
Tomorrow, the Heritage House Museum in Smiths Falls opens its Annual Art Show at 11 Old Slys Road, and Ecotay’s Christmas Market in Perth runs from 10 to 3, featuring 65 vendors, Santa photos, food, and a petting zoo.
Around the junior rinks this weekend:
CCHL play: Smiths Falls travels to Pembroke for a 7 p.m. start tomorrow, and the Canadians host Kemptville at 3.
In Junior B play, the Jr. Canadians host Renfrew at 7:30, while tomorrow’s matchups include Perth in Richmond at 1:20 and Athens hosting Glengarry at 2:30.
