Hundreds gathered at the Cenotaph in Smiths Falls to honour our veterans, and those who made the ultimate scrifice for our freedom.
It began with the parade from the Legion, across the new Veterans Memorial Crosswalk, through downtown to Veteran’s Memorial Park.
A moment of silence took place followed by the last post.
Following the silence, the ceremony featured and address from the Legion president and the mayor, prayers, and the laying of wreaths by dignitaries and families.
Smiths Falls Councillor Jay Brennan said it was a fitting tribute by a grateful community.
The Councillor says it’s gratifying to see such a large response from a diverse group of supporters.
Following the service, veterans, their families and friends gathered at the Legion on Main St. to share stories and community.
