The Ontario Provincial Police are getting ready to put their strength to the test as the annual OPP Truck Pull returns to Smiths Falls this Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre.
Acting Sergeant Eric Ranger, Community Mobilization and Engagement Coordinator, says the December 2 event is a joint fundraiser with United Way.
Any five-person team can enter the pull for a $50 fee, with OPP officers, paramedics, firefighters and community members all invited to compete.
Ranger says organizers hope to see a large crowd and plenty of teams trying to move the truck down the course as quickly as possible.
He adds that United Way’s support and the community’s generosity make the event meaningful every year.
Residents are encouraged to stop by, cheer on the teams and enjoy an afternoon of friendly competition for a good cause.
