Lanark County Interval House is joining communities around the world for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, running from November 25 to December 10.
The annual global campaign calls for the prevention and elimination of violence against women, girls and gender-diverse people.
This year’s international theme focuses on ending digital violence. Local advocates say online harassment, cyberstalking, non-consensual image sharing and digital control are becoming more common forms of abuse, making safer online spaces more important than ever.
Throughout the 16 days, community partners will share information on how residents can learn, engage and take meaningful action. The campaign will highlight resources, prevention tools and local supports available to people experiencing violence.
Organizers say the goal is not only to raise awareness but to empower people across Lanark County to help create safer digital communities. They encourage residents to follow local updates and take part in conversations that promote respect, safety and accountability online.
More information will be shared daily across local platforms during the campaign.
