Lanark County Paramedic Service is inviting residents to take part in its Annual Holiday Food Drive, returning this weekend on Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7. The event encourages community members to “Stuff the Ambulance” with non-perishable food items and monetary donations in support of the Build a Mountain of Food campaign, which supplies food banks across Lanark County.
The holiday drive is one of the largest seasonal contributions to local food banks and plays a key role in helping families during the busy Christmas season. Donations collected by paramedics and volunteers are consistently welcomed by food bank partners, who rely on the campaign to meet increased winter demand.
Paramedics and volunteers will be on site at participating Independent Grocers:
Saturday, Dec. 6: Smiths Falls – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 7: Carleton Place, Perth and Almonte – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to stop by, meet the paramedic teams, and drop off non-perishable items or make a financial contribution. Organizers say every donation, large or small, helps ensure no one in Lanark County goes without during the holidays.
The Build a Mountain of Food campaign supports food banks throughout the county and has become a long-standing community tradition rooted in generosity and local spirit. LCPS officials say they’re grateful for the continued support and are hopeful this year’s drive will once again fill the ambulances and make a meaningful impact for families in need.
