Here’s what’s up!
The Smiths Falls Lions Club is serving up a free community lunch today from noon until one at the Lions Hall on Abbott Street South.
Doors open at 11:30, and everyone is welcome to come in, enjoy a meal, and visit with neighbours. Donations are welcome but never required.
This afternoon, the Merrickville Lions Club is hosting its second annual Garden Party at the Merrickville Legion from 1 to 4. It’s a free, interactive virtual visit to Vancouver’s famous Butchart Gardens, with refreshments provided and plenty of chances to take part.
Wing Night is set for tomorrow, January 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kinsmen Pavilion in Lower Reach Park.

Carleton Place has three outdoor rinks that are maintained by community volunteers. They can be found at Carleton Junction (42 Moore St.), the Carambeck Community Centre (351 Bridge St), and McNeely Park (24 Alexander St.) If you’re interested in volunteering call (613) 257-1690.
The Beckwith Skating Trail is now open for the season. It’s a 1 km loop at Beckwith Park, found at 1319 9th Line in Beckwith.
There are benches to put on your skates to make getting ready easy. Skating is conducive to outdoor conditions which vary, so you’re asked to please Skate to Trail Conditions.

In the CCHL, the Smiths Falls Bears are on the road in Hawkesbury tomorrow and Ottawa Saturday, with 7:30 puck drops. The Carleton Place Canadians visit Pembroke tomorrow, Renfrew Saturday, and host Hawkesbury Sunday.
In the EOJHL, the Perth Blue Wings host Renfrew tomorrow night, visit Carleton Place Saturday, and travel to face the Timberwolves Sunday.
Also in EOJHL action, the Smiths Falls Jr. Bears host Carleton Place tonight and visit Arnprior Sunday.
The Carleton Place Jr. Canadians are also hosting Richmond tomorrow and Perth Saturday.
