Perth resident and entrepreneur Toby Shannan made another pitch to Perth Council in his quest to obtain the soon-to-be-closed local campus of Algonquin College and transform it into a non-for-profit private trades-school.
Brian Turner was there and brings us the story.
Shannan indicated his model for the school could generate $100M in economic benefits to Perth in just 10 years.
Councillor Barry Smith suggested a work-around that might solve the problem.
The Campus is slated to close this August and Shannan has stated on a number of occasions that Queen’s Park doesn’t care what happens to small town colleges.
