A disturbance call at a Smiths Falls residence has resulted in multiple criminal charges, including impaired driving.
Police say officers were called to a local home on January 8 after receiving information about a disturbance in progress. Members responded and began an investigation at the scene.
As a result, one person was taken into custody.
A 49-year-old man from Smiths Falls now faces several charges. Police say he has been charged with one count of assault, one count of operation while impaired, and one count of operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
Investigators allege the incident involved intimate partner violence.
The accused was held in custody and scheduled to appear for a bail hearing.
