A long-running investigation has resulted in an arrest more than four years after the original incident.
Smiths Falls police, assisted by the Ontario Provincial Police, located and arrested a suspect on January 10 in relation to a November 2021 investigation.
Police say 39-year-old Steven Ronan was wanted on two outstanding warrants stemming from a traffic stop where the accused allegedly fled from officers.
As a result of the investigation, Ronan now faces multiple charges, including obstructing a police officer, dangerous operation, flight from police, personation with intent to avoid arrest, taking a motor vehicle without consent, and seven counts of operating a vehicle while prohibited. Several provincial offences have also been laid.
The accused was held in custody and scheduled to appear for a bail hearing.
Police say investigations can remain active for years until suspects are located.
