A Beckwith Township resident is facing impaired driving and stunt driving charges following an early-morning traffic stop in Lanark County.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on March Road shortly before 2 a.m. on Saturday, January 24. The stop was made in Mississippi Mills Township.
Police say the driver was arrested at the scene and transported to the OPP detachment in Carleton Place for testing.
As a result of the investigation, 45-year-old Karen McCormick has been charged with operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, stunt driving for excessive speed, and speeding more than 50 kilometres per hour over the posted limit.
