The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Scarborough resident with multiple sexual offences involving a youth.
Police say the investigation began on July 2, 2024, following allegations connected to incidents that occurred in June of that year.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, and charged with several offences, including accessing, possessing, and making available child sexual abuse and exploitation material, as well as two counts of luring a person under 18 by means of telecommunication.
The accused was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
