The Perth Union Library welcomed the community last week to celebrate the reopening of its newly renovated second floor.
The space, designed for children and teens, now features new carpeting, fresh paint, and a reimagined layout to create a more welcoming and comfortable environment.
Erika Heesen, CEO and Chief Librarian, says a highlight of the renovation is a new mural in the teen area, painted by co-op student Naya, adding a vibrant and creative focal point to the space.
The updated second floor hosts story time and other programs for children and teens, making it one of the library’s most popular areas. Staff say the improvements not only increase comfort but also create a more inviting atmosphere for everyone who visits.
With the second floor now open to the public, families, children, and teens can enjoy a brighter, more engaging environment for reading, learning, and community programs.
