Carleton Place will mark its 14th annual Skate with Your OPP event on Saturday February 7th from 11 am to 1 pm at the Carleton Junction community pad.
This popular community event brings together young and young-at-heart residents with members of the OPP and the Junior A Canadians to enjoy some time on the ice along with food and refreshments and a heaping serving of fun.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation to support the Lanark County Food Bank, the Hunger Stop.
The event is focused on building positive connections between police and the public in a relaxed, welcoming setting, while promoting healthy activity and winter fun.
It was started by Constable Bob Hawn and originally took place on the seasonal rink in front of the OPP station before moving to the Carleton Junction pad just behind the station.
