The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Beckwith Township resident with impaired driving following a public complaint.
Police say officers received a report of a possible impaired driver leaving a business in Carleton Place on Saturday, January 24.
Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop after it entered a residential driveway in Beckwith Township just before 7:45 p.m.
The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment in Carleton Place for testing.
As a result of the investigation, 73-year-old Daniel Creighton has been charged with operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, and obstructing a peace officer.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 2, 2026.
Police say the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
