The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad has confirmed that a federal offender previously sought by police has been arrested.
Tanner Sweet, who went unlawfully at large on January 6, 2025, was apprehended in Flinton, Ontario.
Sweet was located and taken into custody by the R.O.P.E. Squad with assistance from the Lennox and Addington OPP Detachment, the OPP Emergency Response Team, and the OPP K9 Unit. He is currently serving a two-year-and-one-day sentence for multiple offences, including break-and-enter with theft, theft of a motor vehicle, prohibited driving, and firearm-related offences.
The Provincial R.O.P.E. Squad thanked the public and partner agencies for their assistance throughout the investigation, noting the cooperation played a key role in the successful arrest.
