The Town of Perth is introducing a new online recreation and facility booking platform designed to make it easier for residents to register for programs and reserve spaces.
Beginning Monday, March 9, the town will move to the Amilia SmartRec system, which allows users to sign up for recreation programs, book facilities and manage their accounts online or through a mobile app available for iPhone and Android.
Town officials say the new system is meant to simplify the process for residents and improve access to services.
People who previously had recreation accounts will need to create a new one in the system. However, town staff say active memberships, account credits and approved rentals will be transferred automatically.
To help residents during the transition, the town is opening an in-person Help Centre at the Perth and District Indoor Pool from March 9 to April 26.
Staff will be available Fridays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon to assist with setting up accounts and answering questions.
