A Lanark Highlands Township resident is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop by Ontario Provincial Police last week.
The Lanark County OPP detachment says officers were on patrol on 2nd Concession Dalhousie in Lanark Highlands Township when they stopped a vehicle shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Monday, March 3.
Police say the driver was arrested at the scene and taken to the OPP detachment in Perth for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, 38-year-old Kyle Brownlee of Lanark Highlands Township has been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
Police say Brownlee was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 13.
As part of the incident, the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days under an administrative suspension. The vehicle involved was also impounded for seven days
