The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville says its new G. Tackaberry and Family Long?Term Care Home is finished but still not ready to accept residents.
Construction of the home was completed earlier this year and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in January. However, the facility cannot open until it receives final approval from the Ontario Ministry of Long?Term Care.
County officials say several final steps are still underway, including readiness preparations, safety and quality checks, and other provincial requirements needed before residents can move in.
The Counties say they understand the strong community interest in the project and are thanking residents for their patience while the final approvals are completed.
Officials say they remain committed to opening the new long-term care home as soon as possible and will share more information once a confirmed move-in date is available.
A report detailing the challenges and delays faced during construction of the project will be presented to Counties council in April.
