Parents of students in Ontario schools can apply for rebates if their child was affected by the teacher’s strike.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced on Wednesday that his government will cover eligible expenses up to $60 as a result of schools being closed due to the strikes.
Meanwhile, many teachers and education workers taking part in Wednesday’s one-day strike spent the day outside the constituency offices of their local MPPs.
Dozens stood outside the Kincardine office of Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson in the morning.
Thompson was in Toronto when the protest outside her office occured.

This is the latest job action by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation who are in negotiations with the Ford government on a new collective agreement.
Teachers are expected to return to the classroom on Thursday.
