In the early morning hours of March 3rd, Gananoque Police Service officers on patrol noticed a vehicle driving erratically.
When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver fled the scene. Police disengaged the pursuit for safety reasons and launched an investigation to identify the driver.
On March 5, the 31-year-old driver from Rideau Lakes attended the police station for a scheduled probation appointment. At that time, they were taken into custody. The individual faces multiple charges, including Flight from a Peace Officer, Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code, Dangerous Operation, and multiple counts of Failure to Comply with Court Orders and Probation.
The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing. Authorities emphasize the serious consequences of fleeing police and remind drivers to comply with traffic and court orders for public safety.
