Local high school students protested the cuts to OSAP funding Thursday afternoon in front of Perth Town Hall.
PDCI senior Keira Berry said the province’s decision handcuffs the next generation.
The province is slashing OSAP funding by 60% in the fall, meaning students receive only 25% of their funding as grants, while the rest will be in the forms of loans.
Kateri Morris speaks to the necessity of OSAP for a lot of graduates.
Ashwen Foster helped coordinate the walkout.
The PDCI senior says these cuts are more significant than what they may seem.
Walkouts occurred across many Ontario communities Thursday.
