Property owners in Smiths Falls are being reminded that time is running out to apply for funding under the town’s newly enhanced Community Improvement Plan.
Applications for the current intake close March 31, 2026. The program offers grants, loans and rebates to support projects such as accessibility upgrades, heritage restoration, new signage, affordable housing and downtown improvements.
Council recently approved updates that increase support for several categories, including higher funding levels for designated heritage properties. Multiple incentives can also be combined depending on project eligibility, helping reduce overall project costs.
Town officials say residents, business owners and developers should contact staff as soon as possible to determine whether their plans qualify before the deadline passes.
The plan is intended to encourage investment, improve accessibility and support housing development while strengthening the downtown core.
More information about eligibility and applications is available from the town’s economic development office at melmsley@smithsfalls.ca
