Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston MPP John Jordan says the province’s agreement with the federal government to remove HST for new home buyers is one of their efforts to address the cost of housing, and hopefully encourage Ontarioans to pull the trigger on a purchase.
The program is for one year and was included in the 2026 provincial budget.
Jordan told us how the province intends to adress staff shortages across Ontario.
Recently the government has made it easier for out-of-province physicians, nurses and ohter healthcare professionals begin practicing in Ontario for up to six months while they complete their registration process with the Ontario health regulatory college.
