As part of provincial legislation, municipalities are required to provide public reports on remuneration and expenses paid to elected members by March 31st of each year. Carleton Place treasurer Trisa McConkey delivered that report to council at their recent committee meeting.
Salaries paid to council increased 2.5% in 2025 in accordance with Town bylaws.
Mayor Toby Randell earned an honorarium of $48,402 and when per diems, benefits, equipment allowances, and expenses were added, the total was $65,833.
Deputy Mayor Andrew Tennant was compensated a total of $43,966 and his base pay was $30,158.
Councillors each received a base of $23,931 and their totals ranged from $30,346 to $48,662 when other compensation and benefits were factored in.
The figures for Randell and Tennant did not include revenue earned from Lanark County as part of County council remuneration.
