The Town of Perth is inviting residents to explore fresh ideas for the future of the Tay Basin at a public showcase on April 10.
The event will feature conceptual designs created by students from the University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design.
The proposals reimagine the Tay Basin as a more accessible and flexible public space, with ideas focused on events, tourism, and pedestrian movement.
Community Services Director Cathy McNally says the concepts are meant to spark discussion about how the space could evolve.
The designs also consider existing features like the Crystal Palace and the Rideau Trail.
Officials stress the plans are exploratory and do not commit the town to any future projects.
Residents are encouraged to attend the showcase, share feedback, and take part in shaping the conversation.
The event runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Crystal Palace.
