A weekend concert in Lanark is set to support a growing local effort to fight food insecurity while celebrating homegrown musical talent.
The South Lanark Community Garden is hosting its Spring Fling fundraising concert, with proceeds helping cover ongoing costs like seeds, staffing and supplies.
Located on Highway 511, the former garlic farm has been transformed into a community space powered by volunteers and supported through grants and fundraising.
Hart says events like this are essential because grants don’t cover everything.
The Spring Fling runs Saturday at Timber Run Golf Club, starting at 7 p.m., and features local artists Jillian Allenson and Kori.
Hart says the night is about more than just raising money.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, with more details available online at southlanarkcommunitygarden.org.
