Smiths Falls is preparing for what Mayor Shawn Pankow says will be another busy and exciting summer, with events building on strong momentum from last year.
Pankow says planning is already well underway with the downtown BIA and local tourism partners, as organizers look to build on the success of 2025.
Among the highlights expected this year is the return of the Spirit of the Drum Pow Wow in June, along with a steady lineup of activities through the summer months and into the fall.
Pankow says the community can expect a full calendar, with very few quiet weekends.
Popular events like Bike Nights are also expected to return, continuing to draw large crowds to the downtown core.
Pankow says those events not only bring people together, but also create lasting economic benefits, as visitors return to explore local shops and restaurants.
He says many attendees who first visit for major events often come back later, helping support businesses across the community.
With a packed schedule ahead, Pankow says Smiths Falls is once again positioning itself as a vibrant destination for summer events in Eastern Ontario.
