Service clubs in Smiths Falls are finding strength in numbers, with new partnerships already delivering results for residents.
Mayor Shawn Pankow says groups across the town are working together more closely, especially as some face declining membership.
Pankow says that collaboration paid off with the clubs’ recent food drive.
That joint effort raised more than $10,000 for local food support, as the town continues to respond to food insecurity, which was declared an emergency last year.
Pankow says the cooperation is also helping create stronger community events.
He adds partnerships with groups like the Falls Food Hub and local food bank are key, with more initiatives expected as service clubs continue working together to support residents in need.
