Tay Valley Township’s 2025 Municipal Report Card shows strong development activity alongside a push to modernize municipal finances.
The Township recorded more than $73 million in development in 2025, with average construction projects valued at over $671,000. At the same time, building permit activity rebounded, particularly in single-family homes.
On the financial side, the Township began transitioning to a Strong Mayor-style budget timeline and approved the purchase of new financial software—replacing a system that had been in place for more than 25 years.
Use of pre-authorized tax payments continues to climb, reaching over 1,150 users in 2025, up steadily from previous years. However, adoption of eBilling remains relatively low, with most residents still receiving paper bills.
Council also points to ongoing financial pressures, including infrastructure funding needs for roads and bridges, and increasing reporting requirements from the province.
