Mississippi Mills council’s committee was asked recently to approve the second round of 2026 Community Impact Grant funding, supporting a mix of local events, arts, and community initiatives.
Staff recommend just under $5,900 in cash grants and about $2,300 in in-kind municipal support for the second intake of the program.
The Community Impact Grant Program replaced older municipal funding streams in 2025, offering a more flexible and equitable approach with two annual intakes and ongoing micro-grants for smaller, resident-led projects.
With both intakes combined, more than $80K in cash funding has now been allocated, leaving roughly $27K available for the rest of the year.
Funding and in-kind support recommendations included the A Meal for All Multicultural Food Fair, Almonte in Concert, Pakenham Seedling Library, One Mississippi River Reconciliation Project, Almonte Civitan’s Bike Rodeo, Almonte Readers and Writers, Blakney Neighbourhood Picnic and Riversong Theatre.
Council’s committee gave provisional approval for the grants.
