With summer just around the corner, families across the region are turning their attention to kids’ camps offering safe, engaging ways to keep children active and connected in natural settings. Rideau Hill Camp, on the Rideau River, north of Kemptville is gearing up for another great season with a mix of outdoor adventures, creative programming, and team activities—giving kids a chance to build skills, make friends, and enjoy a much-needed break from screens in a supportive environment. Welcoming campers since 1948, Rideau Hill offers a full calendar of camp experiences catered to different age groups as executive direct Karen Milne explains.
Most camps covering ages from 6-15, run Sunday to Friday, but there are shorter stays for pee-wee campers (ages 6-10) and family camps, where parents can enjoy it all with their children of any age. There’s also a Leaders in Training camp for 16 year-olds. Milne tells us of all the activities that keep campers engaged and coming back.
With great access from across Eastern Ontario, Rideau Hill has kept their prices affordable and offer sponsorship opportunities to keep traditional camping accessible. Milne says the positive impact camping has on children can last a lifetime
Registration is now open to June 1st and full details and online registration can be found at rideauhillcamp.com.
