A Perth resident is facing several charges after a traffic stop in Drummond-North Elmsley Township escalated early Friday morning.
Lanark County OPP say officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 7 just after midnight.
Police allege the vehicle fled the scene during the stop, but officers located it a short time later in Perth and arrested the driver.
As a result of the investigation, 29-year-old Matthew Ferguson of Perth has been charged with flight from a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer, uttering threats and failing to properly wear a seatbelt.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 27.
