Don Rideout, the man behind the push for the crosswalk
A new commemorative feature honouring Canadian veterans is coming to Perth.
The dedication ceremony for the Perth Commemorative Veterans’ Crosswalk will take place Sunday, June 7 at 1 p.m. at the Crystal Palace.
Organizers say the crosswalk is meant to honour all Canadians who have served in uniform, both at home and abroad, during times of conflict and peace. The community-led initiative recognizes veterans of all generations, past and present, and is intended as a lasting tribute to their service and sacrifice.
Following the ceremony, refreshments will be served at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 244. Organizers also thanked the volunteers and supporters who helped bring the project to life.
