Home Hospice North Lanark is helping bring dozens of senior-focused services together in Carleton Place.
The 55 Plus Expo is set for Thursday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carleton Place Arena. The event is free, open to the public and focused on helping seniors, caregivers and families learn more about local supports.
Jan Watson, chair of Home Hospice North Lanark, told our Lynda D’Aoust the expo is built around practical help.
Watson says about 57 or 58 vendors are expected, including the OPP, paramedics, travel agents, long-term care homes, the Ottawa Valley Family Health Team and Home Hospice North Lanark.
She told Lynda about this year’s theme.
Those presentations include scams and fraud prevention, community supports, palliative and end-of-life care, and assistive devices.
Watson says the expo has become popular because it is simple and useful.
The Carleton Place Civitan Club will also offer food for purchase.
More information is available through Home Hospice North Lanark at hhnl.ca.
