Smiths Falls resident is facing an assault charge after police were called to a family dispute at a local home.
Smiths Falls police said officers received a report on May 1 about a family dispute that had just happened at a residence. Officers went to the scene and began an investigation.
Police said one person had suffered minor injuries.
Investigators identified a suspect, who later agreed to surrender to officers without incident.
Police said a 52-year-old Smiths Falls resident has been charged with assault. The name of the accused was not released by police.
The accused was later released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
