A 24-year-old Brampton man has died after a canoe capsized on Upper Rideau Lake.
Leeds County OPP say officers responded to a marine distress call shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Police say the call involved a capsized canoe on the lake.
Officers attended the scene with Leeds and Grenville Paramedic Service and the Rideau Lakes Fire Department.
The man was found and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the man was not wearing a personal flotation device at the time. A postmortem examination will be conducted as the investigation continues.
