Bike Nights are rolling back into Smiths Falls, and organizers say the excitement is already building fast.
Kristen Storms, chair of the Smiths Falls Downtown Business Association, says last year’s events brought huge crowds, strong business support and a fresh buzz to Beckwith Street.
Storms says organizers are hoping to see even bigger numbers this year, possibly double last year’s turnout. She says the team is ready, with more planning, more vendors and plenty of reasons for people to come downtown early.
The event will feature live music all night, more than 60 vendors, four food trucks, burgers from the fire association and food from the food hub.
Storms says Bike Nights have become more than a motorcycle event. They have turned into a community gathering that brings people into Smiths Falls and encourages them to return.
The event started after Winchester stopped holding its Bike Nights. Storms says Smiths Falls hoped for 200 to 600 bikes at first, but doubled that on opening night.
This year’s first Bike Night is set for Wednesday. Storms says people should come early, enjoy the food, check out the vendors and take in the music.
