A Perth man is facing charges after police investigated a report of intimate partner violence in the community.
Lanark County OPP say officers were called to an address in the Town of Perth on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Police began an investigation with help from the OPP Repeat Offender and Parole Enforcement unit, also known as ROPE.
OPP say the individual was located and arrested on Tuesday, June 9.
A 35-year-old man from Perth has been charged with assault, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a later date.
Police say the name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
OPP are also reminding victims and survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault that they are not alone, and that support is available.

Police say supports are available for survivors, and the message from service providers is clear: survivors are believed.
The charges have not been proven in court.
