Ontario Provincial Police say a Perth resident is facing multiple charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.
The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police say officers began investigating allegations of intimate partner violence on Thursday, June 25.
As a result of that investigation, a 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault, two counts of assault with a weapon and mischief.
Police say the accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
Police are reminding victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault that support services are available, including crisis resources in Lanark County.
