Lanark County OPP have laid charges against three men following separate intimate partner violence investigations over the weekend.
In the first incident, officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in Perth shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 5. A 39-year-old Perth man was arrested and charged with resisting a peace officer, failing to comply with probation and possessing more than 30 grams of dried cannabis in a public place. He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a later date.
In a second investigation, a 20-year-old Montague Township man was charged after allegations of intimate partner violence were reported to a neighbouring police service on July 5. He faces two counts of assault and two counts of assault causing bodily harm. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
In a third case, officers responded to a seasonal property in Lanark Highlands Township on Friday, July 3. A 47-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and two counts of mischief. He was released from custody and is also scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Police are not releasing the names of any of the accused to protect the identities of the victims.
