Thinking about running for municipal office? Lanark County residents can learn what’s involved at two free candidate information sessions hosted by Ontario’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing this July.
The sessions will cover the roles and responsibilities of municipal council, candidate eligibility and the nomination process, campaign finance rules, voting procedures and other resources for prospective candidates.
The first session is set for Thursday, July 9th from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Lanark County Council Chambers and will be offered both in person and online.
A second in-person session will be held Wednesday, July 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Carleton Place Arena, 75 Neelin St.
