The Small Town, Big Day win your wedding contest, run by the Downtown Carleton Place BIA and 92.3 WOW FM, has named Sean and Vladislava, Emerald and Keith, and Patrick and Emily as its finalists.
BIA coordinator Paisley Woods says the campaign has become more than a contest, with residents following the couples’ stories and helping decide who will receive the wedding package.
Each finalist brings a different love story to the final round. Shawn and Vladyslava met after a repair call led to a connection. Emerald and Keith are young parents who have been together for years. Patrick and Emilie built a relationship through a long-distance romance during the COVID-19 pandemic before settling in Carleton Place.
The winning couple will be announced live on air during Summerfest. The wedding is planned for October and will highlight local shops, food, flowers, accommodations and experiences in the downtown core.
The prize includes stays at the Tri-Century Mill, a riverside ceremony near Town Hall Square, wedding day items from local businesses and a later “mini-moon” built around Carleton Place.
Woods says the contest has been a joyful first-time experience for the BIA and has shown how strongly the community supports local love stories.
