Stewart Park Festival (file)
The Stewart Park Festival will celebrate 35 years of music, memories and community when it returns to downtown Perth from July 17 to 19.
Festival chair Shawn Vermier says organizers are marking the milestone with a special display inside the bandshell near the Crystal Palace. Visitors will be able to look back at past festivals and remember the performers, volunteers and moments that helped shape the event.
The anniversary feature adds another attraction to a weekend already filled with live performances across three stages. Organizers hope longtime festivalgoers will recognize familiar memories, while newer visitors learn more about the event’s history in Perth.
The festival is also expanding its community focus with an area near the Wendy Laut Stage. Local organizations will be able to meet visitors, explain their work and connect with people interested in helping.
Vermier says volunteers have always played an important role in keeping the festival welcoming, safe and accessible.
Admission remains by donation, allowing families and music fans to enjoy the celebration regardless of budget. Visitors can also explore downtown restaurants, cafés and shops throughout the weekend.
