More teachers will be on the picket lines on Friday.
Members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers union staged their one-day strike on Thursday in protest against education cuts, and the lack of contracts.
Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson tells myFM that she hopes the strikes will end as soon as possible so students can get back into the classrooms.
Thompson says the government has been more than fair with their offers to the educational unions.
Thompson says the escalation in job action is all about the money as the union leaders are not bringing anything to the table adding where is that money coming from?
She says the government has put every effort forward in good faith in negotiations and they ask that union partners do the same as all they are doing is hurting the kids by grandstanding.
