The announcement by Education Minister Stephen Lecce on the recent concessions being offered in contract negotiations has been met with skepticism by one of the teachers’ unions.
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario said in a statement that Lecce has been bargaining through the media and not at the negotiating table.
No one at the Bluewater Local was able to comment.
The government pledges that they would reduce their increase in the number of student per classroom to 23, which up from the current 22 but down from 28 which the government originally demanded.
They also say mandatory e-learning classes will now become optional.
