The Bike to End Hunger went virtual this year for obvious reasons and despite trying something new on a quick timeline, it turned into a major success.
Executive Director at the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre Mary Ellen Zielman says it went better than expected.
So far they’ve raised over $4,000 with more coming in, so Zielman expects they’ll surpass the $5,000 mark they set.
She says people took advantage of the flexibility offered by the virtual event, biking for as long as they’re comfortable or even tackling kilometres on a stationary bike.
The support for the fundraiser during tough times Zileman says was simply incredible.
