The fireworks show set up by the North Huron Fire Fighters Association is no longer a go.
Since provincial orders are still in place that currently limit social gatherings to 10 people, the association decided to pull the plug on the event for this year.
The association thanks everyone for their past donations towards the fireworks display and says it anticipates putting on a dazzling show next year.
The association also reminds residents of the township’s fireworks bylaw which only allows the igniting of fireworks on holidays, and prohibits anyone younger than 18 years of age from lighting fireworks.
Fireworks may only be lit on privately owned property with the owner’s permission.
Meanwhile, the Wingham BIA is encouraging residents to post photos of their Canada Day Celebration on the Wingham Community Connectors Facebook page.
There is a Canadian Trivia Night going on Tuesday night and everyone is encouraged to sing O Canada Wednesday night at 9:30.
BIA also has Canadian fags available for purchase at Bilbo Bongins.
