The Bluewater District School Board has some concerns regarding the Province’s plan to make online learning permanent.
Board Chair Jane Thomson (Trustee for Northern Bruce Peninsula and South Bruce Peninsula) says the problem she has about this potential move is it that the Ministry of Education have been keeping this mostly under wraps.
She says they were not made aware until a confidential report was leaked to the media.
Thomson is also worried about small bricks and mortar schools that may see reduced attendance and make in-person learning irrelevant.
She says not every family has access to high-speed internet or devices requirement to do online learning.
