The Township of North Huron are in the process of preparing to replace the water tower in Wingham.
Council agreed to award the engineering contract to RJ Burnside and Associates for a total of $164,059.88 ($74,002.50 for part one, $90,057.38 for part two).
Reeve Bernie Bailey says the 47-year-old (erected in 1974) elevated standpipe is still operating but it is getting to a point where it is beyond repair.
Bailey says they want to be in a position to have the tower replaced once they are able to secure funding.
