Most of the province’s COVID-19 restrictions have now been lifted.
The biggest change is that you no longer need to show your vaccination certificate when you enter some non-essential businesses – though businesses and services have the choice of keeping the requirement.
Capacity limits are being removed.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Paula Stewart says other precautions remain in place as we shift our approach to dealing with the virus.
Masking mandates will be examined before the end of the month with the Premier hinting we’re not far away from dropping the requirement.
As of today (March 1st, 2022):
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required, unless the business of service decides it wishes to continue the practice
- Capacity limits and restrictions have been lifted at all restaurants, gyms and movie theatres
- Capacity limits have also been lifted for sporting and concert venues
- Restrictions have also been lifted on social gathering sizes
